Martin Family Farmstand Gardens
Organic Gardening * Planning & Practices
Tilling, Harvest, Cover Cropping & more to prepare you for Winter planning season!

Saturday, September 27, 2 - 4 pm

With Daniel Martin of Martin's Needham Road FarmStand near Potsdam, NY.

Walk the fertile fields at Daniel and Mendy Martin's
Mennonite farmstead while Daniel tells his story "about a bit of what I have learned."  He will walk us through the fields, explaining as he goes, about cover cropping, green manure, weed management, crop rotation, and the equipment he uses, in addition answering your questions.  There will be time to answer questions as we move about also.  We aim to share information you can take home and use in the Spring planting season but also in the important Winter planning season!

This is an informal and "organic" opportunity to learn successful and mindful gardening practices from one of St. Lawrence County's top growers.  Daniel and Mendy Martin support their large family solely by growing food and supplying wholesome organic produce for many folks who visit their roadside stand, utilize their website or shop locally at the Potsdam Co-op and Nature's Storehouse.  There aren't too many more successful market gardeners than the Martins - we will all surely take away knowledge from this session to last a lifetime!

The farmstead businesses are managed by Daniel and Mendy Martin. Stop by and visit them May – November, Monday – Saturday, between 10am - 6pm. You will find a large, ever changing, selection of chemical-free produce when it is in season.  In addition to their farm stand, they established an online market to offer their customers another option in finding fresh, locally grown produce.
